# Tottenham: Dejan Kulusevski set to sign permanent deal

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) and transfer chief Fabio Paratici by extension are ‘set’ to complete the permanent signing of Dejan Kulusevski at the end of the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) season.**

### The Lowdown: Instant impact

The Swedish international arrived in the capital in January alongside Rodrigo Bentancur on an initial [18-month loan](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12529098/tottenham-transfer-news-spurs-sign-dejan-kulusevski-and-rodrigo-bentancur-from-juventus-on-deadline-day) deal, and his instant impact has been nothing short of remarkable.

The 22-year-old recently [admitted](https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Juventus/26-09-2022/intervista-dejan-kulusevski-io-juve-tottenham-allegri-conte-450354939940_preview.shtml?reason=unauthenticated&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gazzetta.it%2FCalcio%2FSerie-A%2FJuventus%2F26-09-2022%2Fintervista-dejan-kulusevski-io-juve-tottenham-allegri-conte-450354939940.shtml) that leaving the Serie A outfit to join the Lilywhites was the best decision he could have made, and it sounds like his efforts are about to be rewarded by Paratici.

### The Latest: Spurs to tie down Kulusevski

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1575051341440774144?s=46&t=G6xhMBn00GaXCRacAb6w1w), Romano revealed that Spurs will secure Kulusevski on a long-term basis following the conclusion of this campaign, and there are two ways it could happen. He wrote:

“Tottenham are set to make Dejan Kulusevski deal permanent at the end of the season, no doubts.

“Two ways available:

“If he plays 20 games \[45 mins\] in PL and Spurs will qualify to UCL ↪️ obligation to buy for €35m.

“If not, Spurs will have a buy option clause.”

### The Verdict: Fully deserved

Kulusevski being handed a permanent deal would be nothing less than he deserves given the hugely impressive start to life he’s made under Antonio Conte.

The Stockholm-born star has clocked up 11 assists and has six goals to his name in just 29 appearances for Spurs ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dejan-kulusevski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/431755)), highlighting how prolific he can be in the final third.

The forward has become part of a formidable attacking trio alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, so it’s no surprise that the boss wants to keep hold of his ace to continue this formula for the foreseeable future.
