# Tottenham: Djed Spence set to join Spurs before Saturday

**According to [reliable journalist](https://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph) John Percy, [Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) are expected to complete the signing of Middlesbrough starlet Djed Spence before Saturday.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs in negotiations

Taking to Twitter, however, Percy [revealed](https://twitter.com/jpercytelegraph/status/1544605732615725056?s=21&t=yCo7JMYd4hSxWcs9pWMSnw) that Tottenham are now ‘close’ to finalising a move for Spence. He wrote:

Paratici signing Spence would suggest that the director of football is thinking about the long-term recruitment strategy at Spurs, given the fact that he is a young player with bags of potential.
