# Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs enquire about Ugurcan Cakir

**According to reports from Turkey, Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about the potential summer signing of Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.**

The report by [Fotospor](https://www.fotospor.com/haber-trabzonspor-trabzonsporlu-ugurcan-cakir-icin-avrupanin-devleri-sirada-435386) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/tottenham-line-e20m-signing-three-official-offers-already-received-club/)) claimed that all three of Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta and PSV have already submitted offers for the 25-year-old. However, each of those offers – which are reported to be around €20m (£17m) plus a sell-on fee – was rejected by the Super Lig club.

### Transfer Tavern Take

With Tottenham’s current number one Hugo Lloris being [heavily linked with a summer departure](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/14040815/psg-tottenham-transfer-lloris-pochettino/), it is not overly surprising to discover that Spurs are have made an enquiry about the availability of a potential replacement for the Frenchman.

With Cakir having kept an impressive [12 clean sheets](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ugurcan-cakir/leistungsdaten/spieler/292199) over his 32 Super Lig appearances for Trabzonspor so far this season, as well as Leicester City’s head of recruitment Lee Congerton claiming that the 25-year-old is “[one of the best goalkeepers I have seen in my life](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/liverpool-chelsea-ugurcan-cakir-trabzonspor-leicester-city-chief-quotes)“, it would certainly seem as if the Turkey international is indeed a worthy candidate to take over from Lloris this summer.
