# Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs handed major Max Aarons boost as news emerges

**Tottenham have failed to fill the void left by [Kyle Walker](https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/champions-league/2019-2020/football-news-tottenham-are-in-disarray-sacking-mauricio-pochettino-changes-nothing_sto7544573/story.shtml) ever since he left for Manchester City.**

While [Kieran Trippier](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/kieran-trippier-reveals-one-tottenham-18339220) had his moments, the former Spurs star struggled for form in his last season with the club after his heroics at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

According to [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/723822/norwich-premier-league-man-united-tottenham-leeds-liverpool/), Aarons will most likely not be joining them, which has handed Spurs a major boost.

[Tottenham](https://talksport.com/football/723822/norwich-premier-league-man-united-tottenham-leeds-liverpool/) have been chasing the 20-year-old for a number of months now, amid interest from Arsenal, but it appears the Gunners have fallen short of Norwich’s asking price.

The Canaries are demanding [£30m](https://talksport.com/football/723822/norwich-premier-league-man-united-tottenham-leeds-liverpool/) for the talented defender and Spurs are ready to resume [their charm offensive](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-tottenham-primed-for-speed-machine-talks-club-were-ringing-him-every-day-in-jan/) when everything goes back to normal in the summer.

Mourinho is in the market for a new right-back as the club’s hierarchy have grown tired of [Aurier’s antics](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-50m-coutinho-18098543).

While the 27-year-old has received a higher [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/PlayerComparison) rating than Aarons this season, the youngster has averaged [more blocks per game](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/362103/Show/Max-Aarons) and drawn more fouls.

As Aarons is still only young, he could turn out to be a shrewd investment in the future, as [his valuation](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/max-aarons/profil/spieler/471690) will surely increase if he continues to put in impressive performances.
