# Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs set to sanction transfer for Juan Foyth as Leeds United prepare to launch bid

**Tottenham Hotspur are set to sanction a transfer for Juan Foyth amid interest from Leeds United, reports say.**

Spurs struggled to a disappointing [1-1 draw](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53460586) at Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season, although they qualified for the Europa League in the process, but [Foyth](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-foyth/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/480763/wettbewerb/GB1/saison/2019) was nowhere to be seen.

According to [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12247475/leeds-tottenham-juan-foyth-bielsa/), Leeds are preparing to launch a £15m bid for the defender irrespective of whether Marcelo Bielsa brings Ben White back to Elland Road as well.

Foyth’s future at Tottenham looks far from certain as [his agent](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-juan-foyth-agent-reveals-decision-spurs-future/) recently revealed he will make a decision following the conclusion of the campaign.

He has made a full recovery from a [meniscal injury](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-foyth/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/480763/wettbewerb/GB1/saison/2019), although he was an unused substitute in the [3-1 victory](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-foyth/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/480763/wettbewerb/GB1/saison/2019) over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, before being dropped from the squad altogether for the London derby at [Selhurst Park](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-foyth/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/480763/wettbewerb/GB1/saison/2019).

The Argentine, who was once considered a [Mauricio Pochettino](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-to-tell-argentina-international-to-find-a-new-club/) prodigy, has fallen out of favour with his successor, as he has featured just twice for [Jose Mourinho](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-foyth/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/480763/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB1&pos=&trainer_id=781) since the Portuguese succeeded Pochettino in November.

Bielsa is keen to recruit his compatriot, as he believes the 22-year-old would [strengthen](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12247475/leeds-tottenham-juan-foyth-bielsa/) his newly-promoted squad, and it is unlikely the Lilywhites will stand in his way.

The [versatile](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/335107/Show/Juan-Foyth) player, who can play in the centre or at right-back, is considered surplus to requirements by [Mourinho](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/tottenham/tottenham-hotspur-spurs-want-to-sign-robin-koch-to-replace-pochettino-prodigy/), who wants to replace him with Freiburg’s Robin Koch.

So far Foyth has failed to convince [Mourinho](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-juan-foyth-agent-reveals-decision-spurs-future/) he is worth keeping while [Bielsa](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-juan-foyth-agent-reveals-decision-spurs-future/) has a habit of developing young talent as he has arguably transformed the Peacocks by giving players like Kalvin Phillips a chance to prove themselves.

Regardless of whether or not Bielsa will be able to get the best out of him, this should benefit [Mourinho](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11720841/jose-mourinho-spurs-transfer-budget-slashed/), as his sale will generate some much-needed funds in the transfer market.
