### **The Verdict: Brilliant signing**

Described as [“a natural finisher”](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2022/05/13/arsenal-to-sign-gabriel-jesus/) by former Tottenham forward Garth Crooks on BBC Sport, the 25-year-old’s underlying stats clearly justify this praise.

According to [FB Ref](https://fbref.com/en/players/b66315ae/Gabriel-Jesus), the Brazil international ranks in the 91st percentile for non-penalty goals and in the 95th percentile for non-penalty expected goals across positional peers in Europe.

With [58 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-jesus/leistungsdaten/spieler/363205) under his belt in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) and [134](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-jesus/leistungsdaten/spieler/363205) in total for club and country,  Conte would be getting an experienced striker with many years left for him to perform at the top level.

Therefore, this would be a brilliant signing for Tottenham.
