# Tottenham Hotspur to beat Liverpool to the signing of talented attacker?

[![Pochettino fails to strengthen in January](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/4532096-500x337.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/4532096.jpg?admin)Tottenham Hotspur fans have good reason to put down their pints and crack a smile or two here in the Tavern, despite their opening day defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

[The Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2015/08/09/tottenham-weigh-up-17m-transfer-of-alvaro-vadillo-5334143/)are reporting that Mauricio Pochettino is considering a bid for talented Real Betis attacker Alvaro Vadillo.

The Spurs boss[is said to be a long term admirer](https://metro.co.uk/2015/08/09/tottenham-weigh-up-17m-transfer-of-alvaro-vadillo-5334143/) of the silky player, having registered his interest this January but little came of this initial enquiry.

Now, however, with Liverpool also [reportedly](https://metro.co.uk/2015/08/09/tottenham-weigh-up-17m-transfer-of-alvaro-vadillo-5334143/) interested in the 20-year old’s signature, Tottenham are preparing a £17 million offer to the Spanish club in order to meet the player’s release clause.

Some Spurs fans playing snooker stopped and had their say here in the Tavern: “I think we could really do with Vadillo, he looks tidy on the ball and at the moment.. if we lose Kane to injury.. what then? we look a bit ordinary in my opinion!”

**What do you think Tottenham supporters? Would Vadillo be a good addition to the squad? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!**
