# Tottenham Hotspur: Yves Bissouma emerges as ‘possible January target’ for Spurs

**Writing on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/CDEccleshare/status/1343998844284100610), reliable journalist Charlie Eccleshare has tipped a potential move for star Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma in January – going on to claim he is a ‘[possible January target](https://twitter.com/CDEccleshare/status/1343998844284100610)‘ for Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur.**

Bissouma, who has even been [likened to former Spurs fan favourite Moussa Dembele,](https://www.brightonfootballnews.net/yves-bissouma-deserves-too-start-more-for-brighton/) with Mauricio Pochettino once eyeing a move for him to [succeed the Belgian](https://www.westlondonsport.com/tottenham/tottenham-monitoring-mali-midfielder-ahead-possible-move) back in 2017, could move away in January as many clubs eye a deal.

### Bissouma move possible

Eccleshare has tipped the 24-year-old as a realistic target for Tottenham next month as this claim emerges, coming as arch north London rivals Arsenal are[reportedly interested,](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1377836/Arsenal-transfer-news-Brighton-Yves-Bissouma-Thomas-Partey-Kevin-Campbell) alongside the likes of Liverpool.

Indeed, the box-to-box midfielder is a player currently enjoying the form of his career – with Eccleshare saying he is ‘[getting better and better](https://twitter.com/CDEccleshare/status/1343998844284100610)‘ as the games go by this season.

Taking to social media, the Athletic correspondent has outlined him as a potential January target – coming amid claims that Spurs are also heavily interested in Marcel Sabitzer and Milan Skriniar.

### Transfer Tavern take

Described as a player who could become ‘[massive’](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/can-yves-bissouma-prove-hes-more-than-just-pure-potential/54mg0tf2dg5e1wghup7keea39), Bissouma is already turning the heads of big clubs ahead of January – but it remains to be seen whether Spurs do in fact go for him.

He is believed to be valued at around[£40 million](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1377836/Arsenal-transfer-news-Brighton-Yves-Bissouma-Thomas-Partey-Kevin-Campbell), almost three times as much as what the Seagulls paid to land him in the summer of 2018 ([£15m](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5951629/Lille-midfielder-Yves-Bissouma-set-15million-Brighton.html)).

Now his worth has skyrocketed to in and around[Milan Skriniar’s reported price tag](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/tottenham-still-chasing-milan-skriniar-need-one-major-condition-change), this may be a move that will have to wait until after this season’s conclusion.

However, given last summer’s audacious transfer window, you can no longer rule anything out when it comes to Tottenham
