# Tottenham: Inter chief confirms Ivan Perisic has chosen Conte

**[Tottenham](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) have been boosted in their quest to sign Ivan Perisic, with Inter Milan chief Giuseppe Marotta admitting he is heading to the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/).**

### The Lowdown: Perisic strongly linked with move

Antonio Conte has plenty of money to spend after Spurs’ Champions League qualification, with a number of new signings expected in the summer.

Perisic is the player most [strongly linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/ivan-perisic-spurs-transfer-news-romano-conte-paratici/) with a move to north London, as he looks for a new challenge away from Inter ahead of next season.

It looks increasingly likely that the winger will be heading to Spurs – Fabrizio Romano has already given his trademark [‘here we go’](https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/here-we-go-fabrizio-romano-confirms-ivan-perisic-to-tottenham/) – and a fresh update has further suggested that that will be the case.

### The Latest: Inter chief admits defeat

Speaking to [*TuttoMercatoWeb*](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/i-fatti-del-giorno/i-bye-bye-i-perisic-lukaku-e-l-apertura-per-dybala-marotta-fa-il-punto-sul-mercato-dell-inter-1689207) \[via [*Sport Witness*](https://sportwitness.co.uk/chief-says-regret-player-moving-tottenham-matter-time-deal-made-official/)\], Marotta confirmed that Perisic is heading to north London and Inter are already seeking replacements:

> “There is regret, but he wanted to try a new experience in the Premier League. We weren’t in a position to present better offers, his choice was simply based on a different future than the current one.
>
> “Maximum respect for this and also a big thank you. We will find the right replacement and, in any case, we have already taken Robin Gosens.”

### The Verdict: Surely a matter of time?

This update surely means that Perisic is a Spurs player incoming and it has the potential to be a very exciting signing this summer.

The Croatian legend has been [hailed](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/ivan-perisic-transfer-tottenham-conte-24098028) as ‘fantastic’ by Jose Mourinho and has a mammoth [113 caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ivan-perisic/profil/spieler/42460) for his country, highlighting his pedigree as a footballer.

At 33, Perisic may not be coming in as a guaranteed starter every week but he could be a great squad player, giving Conte more options in the final third and at wing-back.
