# Tottenham: Kevin Campbell reacts to Alexis Mac Allister rumours

**[Football Insider pundit Kevin Campbell](https://www.footballinsider247.com/alexis-mac-allister-signing-could-spell-the-end-for-25m-tottenham-star-theres-a-lot-of-talk-pundit-says/) has been reacting to [Tottenham](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/)’s reported interest in Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs speculation

Mac Allister is still away with Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar, preparing for Sunday’s final against France. The 23-year-old has made [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexis-mac-allister/nationalmannschaft/spieler/534033/verein_id/3437) appearances on the biggest stage, netting his [first](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexis-mac-allister/nationalmannschaft/spieler/534033/verein_id/3437) international goal in a crucial group game with Poland.

[Reports](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/20739418/tottenham-transfer-brighton-mac-allister/) in recent days have claimed that Spurs are interested in bringing the player to north London and that Antonio Conte has registered an interest in Mac Allister.

### The Latest: Campbell’s comments

Campbell, who contributes to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12594380/kevin-campbell-arsenal-lack-cutting-edge), was talking to [FI](https://www.footballinsider247.com/alexis-mac-allister-signing-could-spell-the-end-for-25m-tottenham-star-theres-a-lot-of-talk-pundit-says/) regarding Tottenham and Mac Allister. He labelled the Brighton man as ‘a really good player’ and seemed to be excited over a possible move, although he did share his fear for Yves Bissouma.

*“He’s a really good player.*

*“There was a lot of talk about him before the World Cup anyway, but you can see what an impact he’s had on this Argentina midfield.*

*“He’s good on the ball, he’s smart, he’s a worker.*

*“But them signing another midfielder will make life very difficult for Yves Bissouma.*

*“He’s not getting into this side, and they’ve spent £25million on him. If Mac Allister comes in, then it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Bissouma.”*

### The Verdict: Versatility

Mac Allister has starred alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina and has showcased his talent as a central and left midfielder.

He would provide plenty of versatility for Conte at Spurs, ranging from a [defensive midfielder to a centre-forward](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexis-mac-allister/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/534033) throughout his career so far, so could be a wise signing by Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.

However, the player recently extended his Brighton contract until [2025](https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/2873544/alexis-mac-allister-signs-new-long-term-contract#:~:text=Alexis%20Mac%20Allister%20has%20committed,year%20option%20for%20the%20club.), so the Seagulls could demand a huge fee for his services, especially after his displays in Qatar.
