# Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs eyeing summer transfer for Lucas Vazquez

**Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez, who has fallen out of favour with Zinedine Zidane this season.**

[Vazquez](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/tottenham-transfer-news-mourinho-vazquez-18503903) has been touted to make a move to Tottenham this summer and Jose Mourinho is ready to raid his old club Real Madrid to add to his wide options ahead of next season.

According to [The Sun](https://thesun.co.uk/sport/football/), as relayed by [Ricky Sacks](https://twitter.com/RickSpur/status/1285273477742833664), Spurs are eyeing a transfer for the Spaniard in the summer.

[Vazquez](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8469927/Tottenham-eyeing-15m-deal-favour-Real-Madrid-winger-Lucas-Vazquez-summer.html) has struggled for consistent minutes under Zindane so far, as the emergence of Vinicius Junior and injury problems have scuppered his playing time. The 28-year-old, who moved to Real Madrid from [Espanyol](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-vazquez/profil/spieler/221316), has slipped below the likes of Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Isco in the Bernabeu pecking order.

Mourinho is considering a move for Vazquez, as the duo worked together while he was a reserve player during [the Portuguese’s](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8469927/Tottenham-eyeing-15m-deal-favour-Real-Madrid-winger-Lucas-Vazquez-summer.html) time at Madrid.

Although the Spaniard has suffered from an injury-ravaged [season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-vazquez/verletzungen/spieler/221316), it is worth remembering he has still won the [Champions League](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-vazquez/erfolge/spieler/221316) three times and lifted the La Liga trophy twice. [Real](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53437428) were crowned Spanish champions as Zidane’s side won their first La Liga title in three years by beating Villarreal 2-1 last week, with Karim Benzema scoring twice.

Mourinho wanted Vazquez while he was in charge of [Manchester United](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lucas-vazquez-attracts-manchester-united-12828259) and it seems like he will get another chance to sign the winger in the summer.

The Lilywhites are lacking quality in the attacking areas, as [Mourinho](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8441785/Jose-Mourinho-unhappy-lack-alternative-attacking-options-draw-against-Manchester-United.html) has moaned about the lack of creativity in the midfield, and Vazquez could provide some depth and cover for the wide men.

However, [both clubs](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-lucas-vazquez-transfer-rumours-mourinho/) are refusing to meet in the middle, as his valuation has become a stumbling block. [Spurs](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-lucas-vazquez-transfer-rumours-mourinho/) are prepared to spend £15m on the right winger, while Los Blancos are demanding £23m. Whether or not Daniel Levy will be able to get a deal done remains to be seen.
