# Tottenham manager admits he spoke to Manchester United man after injury

Revealed in the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/mauricio-pochettino-reveals-luke-shaw-6454181), former manager Mauricio Pochettino has said how he rang Luke Shaw in hospital and was left hurt, as the left-back was crying down the phone from his hospital bed.

After a hugely impressive start to the season for the left-back, the news comes as a real blow to Manchester United and England fans alike, as the full-back may now struggle to be fit for the European Championships next summer.

In a rocky start to United, Shaw had been one of the real positives with him seemingly finding his feet at his new club after a difficult first season, where he struggled for form and fitness. Which makes the injury even harder to take.
