# Tottenham: Many Spurs fans fume as Dier on front cover of programme

**Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are fuming that the club decided to put Eric Dier on the cover of their official match-day programme ahead of the FA Cup last-sixteen clash with Norwich City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.**

The England midfielder has no goals and just two assists in 22 appearances in all competitions for the club this season (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eric-dier/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/175722/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)). Although he is a defensively-minded midfielder and has played in the centre of defence for Jose Mourinho this season, he may feel himself that he wants to improve.

Despite this, fellow defensive-midfielder Harry Winks has not registered a goal or assist in 31 appearances across all competitions this season (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-winks/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/249126/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)). By these statistics it is arguable that Dier is having a better season than Winks for example. However, it is the front cover with Dier on it that fans have reacted badly to on Twitter:
