# Tottenham: Pedro Porro meeting to take place ‘in the next hours’

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) are set to hold their ‘crucial’ meeting regarding Sporting CP defender Pedro Porro ‘in the next hours’, according to transfer insider [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano).**

### The Lowdown: Meeting planned

The Spaniard has been [identified](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11668379/Tottenham-continue-chase-Sporting-Lisbon-fullback-Pedro-Porro-main-January-target.html) as Antonio Conte’s number one target this month, and despite seeing an opening offer [rejected](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1617478673333886976) as a result of it not meeting his €45m (£39m) release clause, the manager seemingly remains keen on bringing him to the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/).

The Italian journalist then [claimed](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1617925335735209985) that Fabio Paratici and co had scheduled another meeting with Sporting chiefs today to discuss an improved deal for the right-back, [hoping](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-fabrizio-romano-shares-pedro-porro-news/) to secure a deal after the capture of Arnaut Danjuma.

With the 23-year-old reportedly [keen](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1717954/Tottenham-transfer-news-Pedro-Porro-Antonio-Conte-January-targets) on the move, a positive update on today’s proceedings has now emerged.

### The Latest: Matter of hours…

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1618161500023046145?s=46&t=QCllwfjSrFKewxBh0nJeRw), Romano has now reported that Spurs will meet Sporting chiefs quite literally within a matter of hours, and also revealed personal terms were agreed with the player long ago.

### The Verdict: Massive coup

Porro is clearly the most sought-after player amongst N17 chiefs right now, and given the attacking threat he provides down the flank, it would be a massive coup for Spurs should they be able to land him.
