# Tottenham set to pounce for top class talent

![davidvilla.jpg](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/David_Villa_Barcelona_0.jpg)The Football Transfer Tavern posse would love to see Barcelona striker David Villa move to the Premier League and we may get our wish as Tottenham Hotspur prepare a bid according to the [Daily Star.](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/313804/Andre-Villas-Boas-a-massive-David-Villa-fan/)

The Spanish international has found it tough at the Camp Nou since he broke his leg last year and is set for a summer move to start a new chapter in his career.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is desperate to land at least one top class striker in the summer and a £12.6 million bid may be enough to prise Villa away from the La Liga leaders.

Arsenal are also keen on bringing the former Valencia goal machine to the Premier League and a bidding war could begin if, as thought, Barcelona allow their man to leave.

Atletico Madrid have already had a £9 million bid rejected but it is though that Villa would prefer a switch to England.
