# Tottenham Hotspur: Some supporters were confused by Danny Rose’s England call-up

**Danny Rose has been a conflicting figure this season at Tottenham, and judging by these comments, there are a number of fans who simply aren’t too keen on him.**

The 29-year-old left-back was called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad this week as the Three Lions take on Montenegro and Kosovo in two Euro 2020 qualifying games that will seemingly be used for the England manager to determine who should be in contention for next summer’s tournament with the team on the verge of qualification.

And for Tottenham fans on social media, who also saw Harry Kane and Harry Winks receive call-ups to the England squad ([per the FA’s official website](https://www.thefa.com/news/2019/nov/07/england-squad-named-for-montenegro-and-kosovo-071119)), some were confused as to why Rose was yet again included to represent the Three Lions despite playing close to 1,000 minutes for Spurs this season, as stats from [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/danny-rose/leistungsdaten/spieler/50174) show.

Here’s what some Tottenham fans had to say about Rose being included in Southgate’s squad for the November international fixtures, with a few supporters questioning why the left-back had been called up…

> Danny Rose. Who’s picking the squad? Him mum.

> How does Rose make it in there? Not surprised about Alli. Too slow and ineffective.

> Lowkey would be good if Sess emerges somehow in these 18 years. He can easily bench Danny Rose
>
> Think final squad ideally should be either AWB/Walker/Sess over Rose, Dele over Mount and Grealish/RLC over CHO [https://t.co/iwUrtMGXg2](https://t.co/iwUrtMGXg2)
