# Tottenham: Man Utd could offer David De Gea for Harry Kane

**As per the [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1433703/Manchester-United-transfer-news-Harry-Kane-Tottenham), Tottenham could be offered David De Gea by Manchester United in part-exchange for Harry Kane.**

### **The Lowdown: Kane future uncertain**

Kane’s future at Tottenham is uncertain. At the age of 27, he is [yet to win](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-kane/erfolge/spieler/132098) a single piece of team silverware despite being one of the best strikers in the world, and he is [said to have told](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12271200/harry-kane-tottenham-striker-expected-to-ask-to-leave-club-if-they-fail-to-qualify-for-champions-league) those around him that he intends to leave Spurs this summer.

Manchester United have been [mentioned as one of the clubs](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1433703/Manchester-United-transfer-news-Harry-Kane-Tottenham) in pursuit of his signature.

### **The Latest: United could offer De Gea**

Tottenham are believed to value Kane at a huge [£175m](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1433703/Manchester-United-transfer-news-Harry-Kane-Tottenham) – a fee the Red Devils just could not afford.

As such, United could well offer goalkeeper De Gea in part exchange for the England international.

### **The Verdict: Worth considering**

The possibility of Kane departing north London has never felt as pressing. He is on course to end the season as the Premier League’s top goalscorer ([BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers)), while he has also [managed the most assists in the league so far](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers/assists), yet Tottenham are currently seventh in the Premier League and are in real danger of missing out on qualification for European competition altogether.

If the 27-year-old does move on, Daniel Levy must do all he can to get the best deal for the club. While not at his peak, the £19.8m-valued De Gea ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-de-gea/marktwertverlauf/spieler/59377)) is still one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and has won Manchester United’s Player of the Year on four separate occasions – more than any other player ([manutd.com](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/every-winner-of-the-sir-matt-busby-player-of-the-year-award-for-manchester-united#:~:text=Fernandes%20voted%202019%2F20%20Player%20of%20the%20Year&text=David%20de%20Gea%20is%20the,in%202004%2C%202007%20and%202008.)).

Hugo Lloris is 34, [error-prone](https://talksport.com/football/fa-cup/832612/hugo-lloris-lettuce-wrists-tottenham-weak-link-sell/) and does not have too long left at the top, whereas De Gea is four years younger. As long as the transfer fee is also considerable, this could be a good deal for Tottenham.
