# Tottenham: Massimiliano Allegri would consider Spurs approach

**According to the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/new-tottenham-manager-shortlist-potter-ten-hag-rodgers-nagelsmann-rangnick-southgate-b932354.html), Massimiliano Allegri would consider an approach to become Tottenham’s new manager.**

### **The Lowdown: Levy continues manager search**

Spurs remain on the lookout for a new manager after Jose Mourinho was [relieved of his duties](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/56799400) last month.

A number of big names have been linked with the role, including Julian Nagelsmann ([Archie Rhind-Tutt](https://twitter.com/archiert1/status/1385563277615370249?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1385565044465938434%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es2_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fcartilagefreecaptain.sbnation.com%2F2021%2F4%2F23%2F22399182%2Ftottenham-hotspur-transfer-news-rumors-julian-nagelsmann-manager-tempted-bayern-munich)), Maurizio Sarri ([Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.it/2021/04/21/calciomercato-sarri-tottenham-mourinho-fonseca-roma-allegri/)) and Erik Ten Hag ([The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/apr/29/tottenham-target-ajaxs-erik-ten-hag-in-search-for-new-manager)). Allegri has also been mentioned as a potential appointment ([football.london](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/daniel-levy-erik-ten-hag-20470777)).

### **The Latest: Allegri would consider approach**

According to this latest report, it would appear that the former Juventus manager would consider a move to north London if an offer were made.

### **The Verdict: A winner**

Tottenham have failed to win a trophy [since 2008](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tottenham-hotspur/erfolge/verein/148), and there is a general consensus that they have continually underachieved. If they were to appoint Allegri, they would be bringing in a winner.

The 53-year-old has [15 trophies](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/massimiliano-allegri/erfolge/trainer/7671) to his name throughout his career, including 13 major pieces of silverware, and he has also reached the Champions League final on [two separate occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/massimiliano-allegri/leistungsdatenInternational/trainer/7671) with Juventus.

\[freshpress-poll id=”356906″\]

He remains a free agent after departing Juve in 2019. The Premier League would be a new experience for him, of course – he is [yet to manage outside of Italy](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/massimiliano-allegri/stationen/trainer/7671) despite taking charge of [more than 500](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/massimiliano-allegri/profil/trainer/7671) senior career matches – but he has the experience and the track record to suggest he would be capable of doing a good job at Tottenham if Daniel Levy makes him an offer.
