# Tottenham: Bernardo Silva offered to Spurs

**According to [The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9872675/Manchester-City-willing-offer-Tottenham-Bernardo-Silva-seal-150million-Harry-Kane-deal.html), Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign Bernardo Silva by Manchester City as the Premier League champions continue their pursuit of Harry Kane.**

### **The Lowdown: Kane future remains uncertain**

Kane’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain. He has already expressed his desire to leave north London this summer ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12309404/harry-kane-again-tells-tottenham-he-wants-to-leave-as-manchester-city-manchester-united-chelsea-lie-in-wait)), while he missed several days of training to further illustrate his point ([talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/920604/harry-kane-tottenham-training-man-city-spurs-daniel-levy-transfer-premier-league/)).

Manchester City are the club most interested in capturing his services, with Pep Guardiola admitting that he would love to capture the 28-year-old ([The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/06/pep-guardiola-confirms-manchester-city-want-to-sign-harry-kane-from-spurs)).

### **The Latest: Spurs offered Silva**

As per this latest report, Spurs have been offered Silva in part exchange for Kane.

The Citizens are unwilling to offer the £150m that Tottenham reportedly want for the striker, so their best chance of striking a deal may be to offer a player in exchange as well as cash.

### **The Verdict: Worth a punt?**

Of course, losing Kane would be a huge loss for Spurs. After all, he has 221 goals in 336 games for the club and has been their talisman for years ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-kane/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/132098)). Losing him would leave a huge hole up front for Nuno Espirito Santo which he would need to replace, and he would need a lot of money to do that.

However, capturing Silva and bankrolling millions of pounds at the same time could well be a win for Tottenham. Since signing for City in 2017, the £63m-valued 26-year-old ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bernardo-silva/marktwertverlauf/spieler/241641)) has scored [35](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bernardo-silva/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/241641) goals and provided 44 assists in 202 games for the club.

He has been called “unstoppable” by Pep Guardiola ([acefootball.com](https://acefootball.com/football-news/guardiola-lost-for-words-with-bernardo-silva-what-a-player/)) and has even been compared to Manchester City legend David Silva ([Goal.com](https://www.goal.com/en-ae/news/bernardo-silva-on-being-citys-next-david-silva-learning-how/113khsba43ru716p3ipkaln10y)). Signing him without paying a fee would be a great signing for Spurs, even if it meant losing Kane.
