# Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs handed transfer boost as Southampton reject rival bids for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

**Southampton have now rejected a second bid from Everton for Tottenham target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, according to reports.**

The Saints have received two offers from the Toffees for Hojbjerg and turned them both down. According to [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/735198/southampton-everton-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-tottenham/), as relayed by [Ricky Sacks](https://twitter.com/RickSpur/status/1285705145834262529), Southampton have told the two clubs that they will not sell him for any less than £35m in the summer. However, the outlet added that [Tottenham](https://talksport.com/football/735198/southampton-everton-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-tottenham/) are still some way off the Saints’ asking price.

[Alex Crook](https://twitter.com/alex_crook/status/1285668768610385920) revealed via [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/735198/southampton-everton-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-tottenham/) that Hojbjerg prefers a move to Spurs over Everton, but it remains to be seen if Daniel Levy will meet Southampton’s hefty valuation.

Hojbjerg, who moved to St Mary’s for [£12.8m](https://talksport.com/football/735198/southampton-everton-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-tottenham/) from Bayern Munich in 2016, had [the captain’s armband](https://talksport.com/football/718357/pierre-emile-hojbjerg-stripped-of-southampton-captaincy-ralph-hassenhuttl-saints/) stripped from him after he refused to sign a new deal at the club.

[Recent reports](https://talksport.com/football/735198/southampton-everton-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-tottenham/) had suggested that Southampton had accepted an offer from Everton, although this no longer appears to be the case. While the Dane favours a move to north London, it seems that the decision rests entirely on Levy’s shoulders.

[Levy](https://www.90min.com/posts/6595503-7-times-daniel-levy-tried-to-avoid-spending-money) has been notoriously tight-fisted in the past and, although [the Lilywhites](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tottenham-hotspur-weigh-up-move-for-southamptons-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-gwjd8hcdj) had privately hoped he would be available for a cut-price deal, the Saints are still demanding £35m at the very least. Whether or not he will be willing to spend any more on the 24-year-old is another matter altogether.

[Spurs](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/jose-mourinho-rewards-eric-dier-with-new-deal-a-year-after-spurs-wanted-to-sell-him-gg880n857) will have to increase their offer for Hojbjerg if they are to stand any chance of signing Mourinho’s top target in the summer.

Nevertheless, the club remain [confident](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/jose-mourinho-rewards-eric-dier-with-new-deal-a-year-after-spurs-wanted-to-sell-him-gg880n857) that they can get a deal completed in a matter of weeks, although it’s clear that the midfielder will not come cheap.
