# Tottenham Hotspur: Kyle Walker-Peters wanted on permanent deal by Southampton

**Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker-Peters has spent half of the season on [loan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyle-walker-peters/profil/spieler/341051) at fellow Premier League side Southampton, and the latest news suggests the Saints are very impressed in the player and would like to see if he is available in the summer.**

According to [The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jul/22/tottenham-confident-of-signing-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-from-southampton), Southampton would love to sign the right-back on a permanent basis. He would not be involved in any deal involved Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with whom Spurs have been [linked](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jul/22/tottenham-confident-of-signing-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-from-southampton) for a potential transfer.

The Saints haven’t made an offer for Walker-Peters yet, but may well decide to do so in the upcoming transfer window.

Currently, Tottenham have Serge Aurier as their starting right-back and, in comparison to the[23 year-old](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jul/22/tottenham-confident-of-signing-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-from-southampton) on loan at the Saints, the Ivorian has more tackles (2.8 to 2.7) and more interceptions (1.4 to 1) per game, via [WhoScored.](https://www.whoscored.com/PlayerComparison)

The 27-year-old also has one goal and five assists in the Premier League this season, whilst Walker-Peters has none. Therefore, judging by those figures, Aurier is a more complete full-back at this moment in time.

Walker-Peters will not want to be a back-up at Tottenham as he has shown that he can play in the Premier League whilst on loan at Southampton, so a long-term move to St Mary’s might be of interest to him.

He is valued at £7.2m on [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyle-walker-peters/profil/spieler/341051), so Spurs might be able to make some money on him to use on players who could provide sterner competition for Aurier’s place in the team.
