Tottenham Hotspur: Alasdair Gold heaps praise on ‘magic’ club record signing Tanguy Ndombele

Writing on Twitter, Alasdair Gold has dropped a claim surrounding Tottenham’s record signing Tanguy Ndombele, going on to explain how ‘happy’ he is after Jose Mourinho’s apparent U-turn.
Ndombele, who has put in a string of impressive performances so far this season, has worked his way back into Mourinho’s plans following reports of a bust-up between the pair a few months ago.
Is Tanguy Ndombele the next Mousa Dembele?
Yes, could happen

No, Mousa is irreplaceable

Indeed, Get French Football News claimed the 23-year-old was unhappy in north London and open to a move away, but fast forward to October and the marquee signing is proving his worth.
After Spurs’ dramatic Europa League victory at Lokomotiv Plovdiv last month, Mourinho waxed lyrical over Ndombele and claimed he is ‘playing amazing‘, with Gold in full agreement after the midfielder’s transformation in mood.
Calling the midfielder ‘magic‘, the Football.London journalist also pointed out that you’d ‘see him laughing’ in training, putting emphasis on how ‘happy’ he has become this season.
Simplifying things of course but you can’t help but notice how happy Tanguy Ndombele is nowadays. You see him laughing on the pitch, in training and even his social media presence has increased and shows him getting on with everyone. Just had to settle. https://t.co/9wnq6HSeAF

Gold also hints that Ndombele just needed time to settle into life in the Premier League, and his performances so far this season appear to support that theory.
Transfer Tavern take
Described as the ‘closest thing to [Mousa] Dembele’ by ex-Spurs striker Darren Bent, the record-shattering £53.8m acquisition from last summer certainly has a large weight of expectation, but he is now taking to the spotlight.
Barely getting a sniff under Mourinho last season, Ndombele’s focus and demeanour seems to have changed, with the midfielder now proving he has what it takes to become a real force for Tottenham.
Whether or not he can climb to the same heights as Dembele remains to be seen, but his presence in the team has been a real plus point for Spurs so far this season.
