Taking to Twitter, 90min journalist Sean Walsh-  who covers both Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur - has an interesting update concerning ex-Lilywhites star Christian Eriksen.

The Lowdown: The fairytale story of 2021/22?

The Denmark footballing legend, who suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch at Euro 2020, has been one of the fairytale stories of the 2021/22 Premier League season as he returns to the pitch and dazzles for Brentford.

Becoming a key member of Thomas Frank's starting XI in recent weeks, Eriksen is now attracting attention from suitors up and down the English top flight.

Over his last three league starts, the 111-cap international has grabbed a goal and assist, with his strike coming against London giants Chelsea in a memorable 4-1 victory for the Bees at Stamford Bridge (Transfermarkt).

Sharing news on social media, Walsh now has an interesting update on the 30-year-old's future involving Spurs.

The Latest: Walsh makes Eriksen claim...

As per his information, Tottenham are indeed one of the clubs interested in signing Eriksen as they eye a return for their former star.

The 30-year-old's deal expires in late June, so he could leave west London and sign for Spurs on a Bosman, but it is unclear whether Eriksen would actually be open to making a comeback at N17.

Walsh tweeted"Brentford FC face real battle to keep Christian Eriksen despite hope within club that he’ll stay. Understand #THFC *are* one of several teams interested in a free transfer, but unclear if player wants a reunion."

The Verdict: Get it done?

If Spurs and transfer chief Fabio Paratici can convince Eriksen to make a return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he could arguably strengthen manager Antonio Conte's options, especially going by his creativity under Mauricio Pochettino.

However, with the current Lilywhites boss seeing much joy out of a front three of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski in a 3-4-2-1 formation, it's unclear where a playmaker like Eriksen would fit in.

At risk of upsetting a system which works wonders, Tottenham could have some thinking to do before making a concrete summer move for their former hero.
