Former Tottenham Hotspur star Graham Roberts insists that the club will not sell their fringe players on the cheap this summer.
The club have been active in the transfer window thus far this transfer window, in terms of both bringing players in and moving them out.
Both Cristian Romero and Pierluigi Gollini have arrived from Atalanta on initial loan deals, while Bryan Gil has been signed from Sevilla for a fee of £22.5m, with Erik Lamela going the other way.
Should Tottenham sell Serge Aurier to Lille this summer?
Defender Juan Foyth has left the club, as have Toby Alderweireld, Joe Hart, Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga.
Roberts, though, insists that teams must pay up if they are to secure the signings of those Spurs players who are struggling for minutes under manager Nuno Espirito Santo in this transfer window.
He told The Transfer Tavern: “They’ve got to be realistic, these teams, you’re not going to get players that are decent just because they’re not settled at Tottenham. It doesn’t mean they’re going to give them away.”
