Tottenham Hotspur: Lilywhites ‘would do well’ for Wilfried Zaha, claims ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan - Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Rumours

Speaking to talkSPORT, via HITC, ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has hinted that Wilfried Zaha should join Tottenham Hotspur, going on to claim the Lilywhites may best suit him along with the fact that he ‘wants‘ a move away.

Zaha has been targeted by Spurs in the past, with January reports indicating that chairman Daniel Levy was turned off by his whopping £80m asking price, and he is once again at the centre of rumours linking him with a move away from Palace.

Would you take Zaha at Spurs for £60m or over?

Sky Sports even reported that the club could be lining up his replacement in Jeremie Boga, with one of the main questions being where he’s most likely going to end up if he leaves Selhurst Park this summer.

Ex-Palace owner Jordan, who speaks regularly on talkSPORT, has now claimed that Spurs would be the most ideal destination for Zaha despite Levy being very unlikely to pay over the odds for his signature.

“It hasn’t been a great season for Wilfried Zaha. Palace have a valuation for him I think is based on his talent,” claimed Jordan.

“Some of the output he has given for Palace this season would not necessarily demand the same figure. If you could get £60 million last year, you’re going to really struggle to get that now because his form hasn’t been what it was.

“He does want to go but I’m not entirely sure there’s a queue of clubs that will buy him. I think, as much as it galls me, Tottenham is a place that would do Wilfried well.”

The £130,000-a-week star has been no stranger to Tottenham in the past, however, with ex-Spurs boss and fan favourite Mauricio Pochettino once claiming that the Ivorian could be ‘the next Ronaldo’.

Also hailed as a ‘game-changer‘ by manager Roy Hodgson, Spurs could certainly do far worse than Zaha in their pursuit of a talented winger.

Indeed, Fabrizio Romano claimed last week via the Last Word on Spurs podcast that Levy and co were in the market for a wide attacker, but given Zaha’s sky high valuation, it’s perhaps unlikely that they will lodge a serious pursuit.
