According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham are set to launch a January bid for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.
Interest remains in Milik
Spurs were linked with the Poland international throughout the summer transfer window, but instead signed Carlos Vinicius as back-up to Harry Kane. However, he was only brought in on loan, which could lead to Jose Mourinho signing another forward.
Now, it seems that the Lilywhites are ready to make another move for the 26-year-old when 2021 rolls around.
Alternative to Kane
Had it not been for a number of injuries, Milik would arguably be in far more demand. He made the move to Italy after scoring 47 times in 75 games for Ajax, and has remained a dangerous forward for the Serie A outfit, bagging 48 times in 122 appearances.
Would you like to sign Milik?
Currently valued at £28.8m by Transfermarkt, Milik could well be available at a decent price, that is even if he does command a transfer fee at all. He currently has less than one year left on his contract, which means he could sign a pre-contract agreement with Spurs in the next transfer window and make a move in the summer. Therefore, Napoli could choose to take a fee for him in January and let him move straight away. If Mourinho could get such a deal over the line, it could be an astonishing bargain for Tottenham.
