Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has shared a promising update for supporters on the club’s transfer plans before the start of 2022/23.
The Lowdown: Spurs keeping busy?
Having made six major signings already this summer, the Lilywhites are reported to be contemplating upgrades in other areas of the squad after their array of activity.
Indeed, it is claimed by The Evening Standard that Spurs also wish to add a creative midfielder to their ranks, whilst the possibility of signing another centre-back alongside Clement Lenglet isn’t entirely ruled out.
It is believed that Tottenham want to focus on outgoings before making any more new signings, with sporting director Fabio Paratici now turning his attention towards player sales.
Nonetheless, supporters could still see more incomings after the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence.
The Latest: Gold shares promising update…
As now backed by reliable correspondent Gold, more incoming activity is certainly possible, with the football.london journalist claiming that Spurs could be active towards the end of the transfer window.
He explained: “Spurs are continuing to look at potential attacking midfielders and strikers if the right deal emerges in the remaining six weeks of the window.”
The Verdict: Interesting times ahead…
Given the signing of Richarlison, the fact that Paratici could also sign another striker for Antonio Conte certainly comes as a promising sign for Tottenham supporters.
In terms of attacking midfielders, one potentially brilliant signing could be the strongly-linked Nicolo Zaniolo, who netted the winner for Jose Mourinho’s Roma in last season’s Europa Conference League final against Feyenoord.
Who should Tottenham sign after Spence?
Adding those to a forward line which already contained Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevseki could have Spurs fans licking their lips at the thought of what could be to come in 2022/23…
