Tottenham: Conte personally ‘pursuing’ Malinovskyi -Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Rumours

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is personally ‘pursuing’ Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi as reports out of Ukraine share the latest on their pursuit.

The Lowdown: Spurs aiming high…

Having signed Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie already, Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici is reportedly a busy man behind-the-scenes.

Seven major signings have put pen to paper at N17 ahead of what will be a long and gruelling 2022/2023 Premier League season, not least due to the real sense of expectation.

Last season’s Champions League qualification has seemingly gifted the north Londoners a new lease of life, having also benefitted from a £150 million equity increase to tackle this summer market.

Before September 1, Spurs remain linked with further new incomings as a claim now surfaces on their pursuit of Ukraine international Malinovskyi.

The Latest: Conte personally ‘pursuing’ Malinovskyi…

According to reports, it’s the Lilywhites head coach himself who is pushing to sign the 29-year-old.

Indeed, Ukrainian journalist Viktor Vatsko (via top Ukrainian football source Zorya Londonsk) claims Conte hopes to bring Malinovskyi to Hotspur Way as he believes the player suits his system.

It’s added that the attacker ‘wants to come’ to Spurs, but there’s an issue, with Ligue 1 giants Marseille allegedly meeting Atalanta’s demands while Paratici is yet to do so.

The Verdict: Get moving…

Lauded as one of Atalanta’s ‘top players‘ by journalist Jake Anderson, the numbers well and truly back this up.

Spurs fans, do you remember who scored your first goal of the season against Man City?

According to WhoScored, Malinovskyi ranked in the Serie A side’s top five for attempts at goal per 90, key passes made and successful take-ons last season with manager Gian Piero Gasperini also calling him an ‘extraordinary‘ player for them over the years.

It’s little surprise Conte believes he could be a great option at Spurs, and given their newly more hectic fixture calendar, trying to reinforce with more strength in depth is a wise move.
