Tottenham Hotspur have entered pole position to sign Ukraine international Ruslan Malinovskyi as reports out of Italy share an exciting transfer update.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye moves...

Fabio Paratici, the Lilywhites sporting director, has been seriously moving behind-the-scenes in an effort to bolster Spurs boss Antonio Conte's options for this 2022/2023 Premier League season.

Moves have been sealed for Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie with the latter joining Udinese until the end of this campaign.

Reports have suggested that Paratici and Conte are on the lookout for further additions with some exciting news emerging on Atlanta midfielder Malinovskyi.

The Latest: Lilywhites enter 'pole'...

Indeed, a fresh claim out of Italy states that the north Londoners are ahead in the race for Ukraine's 49-cap star.

Tutto Atlanta state Spurs have 'overtaken the competition' and are 'on pole' to seal a move for the midfielder with a 'proposal' even being on the table.

Whilst the Serie A side would prefer a straight sale, it is believed Paratici wants Malinovskyi on loan with a possible option or obligation to buy inserted into the deal.

However, the player himself is keen and ready to give his 'ok' for the transfer.

The Verdict: Make the move?

One of Atalanta's most potent attacking threats last season, the 29-year-old ranked in their top five for most shots attempted at goal, key passes made and successful take-ons completed per 90 (WhoScored).

Malinovskyi, netting six goals and assisting four others to boot, also finished 21/22 as their fifth-best overall performer by average match rating - backing that he is a real player on a fairly consistent basis.

His age indicates a figure of experience both at club level and internationally - leaving little surprise Conte and Paratici are allegedly chasing a deal for the versatile attacker.

However, given he is valued at around £25.2 million by Transfermarkt, Spurs may want to whittle that price since he is on the slightly more seasoned side.
