Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has shared a significant update on Tottenham Hotspur's chances of re-signing Gareth Bale for a third time this summer.

The Lowdown: Spurs keep moving...

The Lilywhites and transfer chief Fabio Paratici's preparations for the 2022/2023 Premier League season are in full swing with three signings having already been confirmed by Spurs.

Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, who both joined the club on Bosman deals, were soon followed by the arrival of Mali international Yves Bissouma in a £25 million deal from Brighton.

It is believed that yet more additions could follow the trio as head coach Antonio Conte sets his sights on a right-wing-back, central defensive star and striker.

The Latest: Bridge shares Bale update...

Speaking to Sky (via Football Daily), reporter Bridge has now shared the latest on Spurs and their links to re-signing hero Bale for a third time.

Unfortunately, he claims the move is dead in the water for Lilywhites supporters. When asked if Paratici could make a move for the 32-year-old, he revealed rather bluntly:

"I'm told no."

Bridge explained this is despite 'early talk' of another reunion and goes on to say a move is possible for the likes of Cardiff City.

The Verdict: Good call?

The winger, despite once being a star for Spurs, has been struggling for fitness at club level over this past year and we believe the north Londoners should let sleeping dogs lie.

A new striker, wing-back and centre-back are clearly priorities for Paratici and we believe that's where the Italian's full focus should be - but it will be interesting to see where Bale ends up next.

According to Bridge, it won't be N17, and that feels like the right decision this time around.
