Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Barcelona forward Memphis Depay with one Lilywhites chief even spotted in Barcelona recently.

The Lowdown: Spurs linked...

Antonio Conte, aiming to build upon last season's success and qualification for the Champions League, has certainly been backed in the transfer market by Spurs and sporting director Fabio Paratici.

The signings of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence could be followed by more with Barca's Depay among the names linked to a Premier League move.

Man United's former winger is reportedly a target for the north Londoners as journalist Gabriel Sans shares an interesting update.

The Latest: Tottenham eye move...

Writing for Mundo Deportivo, the reporter states that Depay has been of interest to Spurs 'for weeks'.

Following on, Sans also explains that Tottenham owner and club chief Joe Lewis has been in Barcelona over the last few days with the majority shareholder spotted in Spain.

It is believed that, alongside Depay, Lewis' presence in Catalonia could be related to a possible sale negotiation surrounding Sergio Reguilon.

The Verdict: Advance?

As Paratici and Conte reportedly eye a move for Depay, it's clear to us that he would be a good option for Spurs.

The Dutchman actually impressed for Barcelona last season, finishing 21/22 as their joint-top provider of goals and assists combined (12G, 2A) in La Liga.

As well as this, Depay racked up their joint-second most attempts at goal per 90 and ranked in among their top five best-performing players (WhoScored).

Following on from his brilliant years at Lyon, journalist Samuel Luckhurst is backed in his verdict that the 28-year-old is a 'different beast' compared to his past-self at Old Trafford.

Funnily, Depay's contract possesses a whopping €400 million release clause (£337m), but given he does not fit into Xavi's plans, Spurs could sign him for much, much less.
