Reports out of Italy have shared the latest news on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks and his future in north London.

The Lowdown: Spurs eyeing sales...

Following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence, it is believed that the Lilywhites are primarily focused on player sales for the time being.

Many players could still leave the Premier League side this summer with Japhet Tanganga and Bryan Gil among those up for what could most likely be a temporary exit.

Meanwhile, the likes of Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Winks have also been linked with a departure.

The Latest: Winks 'will leave London'...

A report this week suggested Winks could be set for a shock stay despite his low spot in the midfield pecking order, but some news from the continent is now claiming the complete opposite.

According to TUTTOmercatoWEB, the 26-year-old is set to quit Tottenham and 'will leave London' - coming as Serie A side Sampdoria 'dream' of his signing.

However, they'll have no such luck given the operation for Sampdoria is almost impossible, and the reason is due to Winks' desire to remain in the English top flight.

The Verdict: Miss for Conte?

Spurs head coach Antonio Conte has previously sung the praises of Winks, calling him a 'reliable' player, and certain pundits actually tipped the midfielder to 'flourish' last season once the Italian arrived.

Indeed, ex-Tottenham shot stopper Paul Robinson called Winks the 'perfect fit' for Conte's system in midfield, but alas, the arrivals of Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma this year will push him further down the pecking order and an exit is perhaps best for all parties.
