Tottenham manager Antonio Conte holds a personal interest in Milan Skriniar as the Premier League giants eye a move for the Slovakia international

The Lowdown: Spurs' summer ambition...

The Lilywhites displayed real ambition over the summer transfer window as sporting director Fabio Paratici completed eight major signings for the club in total.

Indeed, Spurs invested significantly in an effort to back manager Antonio Conte, sealing moves for Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie and a permanent deal for Cristian Romero.

Despite the window shutting two-and-a-half weeks ago, reports have already suggested that Paratici has one eye on the next opportunity to make signings.

The Latest: Conte eyeing Skriniar...

According to Football Insider, Spurs are firmly in the mix to sign Inter Milan defender Skriniar, who is out of contract in June 2023.

The in-demand centre-back is attracting attention from Real Madrid, Chelsea and the north Londoners, with Conte being a 'huge admirer' of his former Nerazzurri player.

After submitting offers in previous transfer windows, Tottenham apparently 'retain' their interest in the £101,000-per-week defender.

The Verdict: Get it done?

If Conte wishes to bolster his defence, we could think of no better player than the Nerazzurri figurehead, who has been excelling as a member of Simone Inzaghi's back three.

Hailed as 'sensational' for his role at Inter by Serie A football expert David Amoyal, past reports have suggested that Skriniar has also contemplated a move to Hotspur Way before.

According to reliable journalist Alasdair Gold in October 2020, the 27-year-old was 'very keen' on joining Spurs amid their links back then - potentially making you wonder if he could adopt the same stance when Paratici comes knocking.
