Writing for football.london, reliable Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold has dropped the latest on Dele Alli as manager Jose Mourinho continues to barely-play the attacker.
Alli, described as a ‘mainstay’ under former boss Mauricio Pochettino, cannot seem to get a look in for Mourinho – especially in the Premier League.
Having featured over just 67 minutes this season domestically, Alli last got his chance to shine last week against Ludogorets in the Europa League – putting in a stellar first half performance.
Gold drops Alli update
However, the Englishman still couldn’t make Tottenham’s bench against Chelsea – similar to compatriot Harry Winks, who is having an equally tough time getting minutes despite impressing in Europa League cameos.
Now, football.london correspondent Gold has dropped the latest on Alli, and while he admits it’s unlikely he will leave in January, the reliable journalist has also refused to rule it out.
Finding himself in a similar situation to Tanguy Ndombele, who was previously linked with an exit, Gold admits there will be plenty of speculation surrounding his future in January and has refused to rule out a potential departure (football.london).
The good news for Spurs supporters is Gold claimed that there is still faith in Alli behind the scenes, but he may have to go on a similar journey to Ndombele in order to impress Mourinho enough.
