Taking to Twitter, London World reporter Rahman Osman has made a 'behind the scenes' Tottenham Hotspur transfer claim involving manager Antonio Conte.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye new additions...

As per reliable reports, Tottenham will certainly aim to be active in the January transfer market as Conte and club chief Fabio Paratici set their sights on improving key positions.

Football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold believes the club and Conte will target four 'priority' positions in a right wing-back, left-footed central defender, new striker and central midfield man.

Meanwhile, specific players linked with a move to Spurs are vast, names including the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Franck Kessie, Adama Traore and Tariq Lamptey for those positions.

Sharing what he knows, another English capital journalist in Osman has made a pretty promising claim from behind closed doors at Spurs.

The Latest: Conte 'working' on Spurs deals...

According to his information, Tottenham's coach is personally 'working' on January deals at the club as he seeks to kick start a new era at Hotspur Way 'behind the scenes'.

"Antonio did not give a lot away on transfers yesterday but we understand he is working on some deals behind the scenes," Osman explained on Twitter.

"He wants to bridge the gap as soon as possible."

The Verdict: Big claim...

Just eight days into the winter window, news of Conte already chasing agreements behind the scenes come as a big bit of encouragement for Spurs fans.

Tottenham are still in with a real chance of a top four finish and qualification for the Champions League at the end of 2021/2022, sitting just two points behind north London rivals Arsenal with two games in hand (Premier League).

However, injuries and COVID-19 absences have been taking their toll up and down the Premier League with Conte even confirming that star player Son Heung-min could now be out for the rest of January.

Indeed, the winter window could be crucial to Tottenham's finish and Conte's aim to 'bridge the gap' in quick fashion makes this month, arguably, his most important one to date as he seeks more strength in depth.
