It looks like Tottenham Hotspur do not just want to add quality to their starting eleven, but increase their squad depth as the latest reports suggest they are keen on a Premier League goalkeeper.
According to The Daily Mail, Spurs have a list of goalkeepers they see as transfer targets, with Watford’s Ben Foster one of the names on the list.
No bid has been made but the club are monitoring his situation as Watford sit in the relegation zone with only one game left to play.
The Watford Observer recently reported that the 38 year-old had signed a new contract at the Hornets, which would keep him at the club for two more years. Despite his age, the Englishman is still at the top of his game and has been one of the few players still on form despite the Hornets’ poor season which sees them in the midst of a relegation battle, via BBC Sport.
He has also made the sixth most saves in the division this season per Squawka and despite their position in the league, this has helped him keep the tenth most clean sheets. Clearly his performances have not gone unnoticed as he has been named the London Goalkeeper of the Year at the London Football Awards for the last two years.
Foster would be a very experienced and welcome addition to the club if he can come on a cheap price, and would provide perfect cover for Hugo Lloris if he was not able to play.
