The latest news suggests that Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Bundesliga midfielder Marcel Sabitzer and could make a move in January.
The reports on Sabitzer
According to The Daily Mail, Spurs want to keep their title hopes alive this season by strengthening in the January transfer window. This has seen Sabitzer emerge as a £45million January transfer target.
Would this be a good signing
The Austrian was praised by former manager Ralf Rangnick, who said: “He has clearly changed for the better and has become a leader. The way he has developed his personality is remarkable. I’ve only rarely experienced something similar.”
The player has shone in both the Champions League and the Bundesliga this season. He has managed three goals and one assist in his nine appearances in the German top flight while also grabbing an assist on route to knocking Manchester United out of the Champions League (WhoScored). He has averaged 1.6 shots, one key pass and 1.3 interceptions per game.
At the age of 26, he is at the top of his game and has potential to grow into an even better midfielder. Someone who can both attack and defend in the middle of the pitch is a great asset and one Mourinho would love.
