According to an update by Football Insider, Davinson Sanchez faces leaving Tottenham in January, potentially on a loan deal, despite players earlier reports of teammates ‘applauding‘ him in training – with manager Jose Mourinho now having little faith in the Colombia international.
Sanchez, who has featured regularly for Spurs this season, could face the chopping block after having been left out of three matchday squads on the run before a two-week international break.
Sanchez on the move?
The centre-back, largely partnering Toby Alderweireld during an injury absence for Eric Dier, could be offloaded on loan in the January window according to this latest update by Football Insider.
While a permanent move away is unlikely at this stage, Mourinho reportedly doesn’t rate Sanchez highly enough to warrant a place on his team sheet – with news now emerging that Tottenham could look to seek a move away for the ace in January.
Transfer Tavern take
Now, with the signing of Joe Rodon and further January options being explored, Sanchez faces the Mourinho axe despite players behind the scenes ‘applauding’ his exploits in training.
A partnership of Dier and Alderweireld appears to be preferred by Mourinho at the moment, despite complaints over a lack of pace, but only time will tell whether Spurs re-enter the market for defensive reinforcements.
They have been linked with the likes of Milan Skriniar and Antonio Rudiger in recent windows, and this Football Insider report claims Spurs will explore January options.
