Dele Alli wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur in this month’s transfer window, according to The Athletic.
However, as per the news outlet, Spurs do not want to sell the England international in case other players get injured and he is needed to play.
Should Spurs let Alli leave on loan?
Jose Mourinho has previously dubbed the former MK Dons ace as ‘one of the best’, but now the ex-Chelsea and Manchester United boss would reportedly be fine if he was to leave this month.
Alli needs to play ahead of Euros
Alli may need to get some more games under his belt if he wants to increase his chances of making Gareth Southgate England squad for the rearranged Euros in the summer.
The attacking midfield player has only played in a mere 11 matches in all competitions so far in the 2020/21 term, and has not yet completed a full 90 minutes (Transfermarkt).
However, the 24 year-old still has qualities that he has shown previously when playing for the North London club, scoring no fewer than 64 goals and making a further 56 assists in 233 appearances in all competitions over the last six consecutive seasons (Transfermarkt).
Nonetheless, a move away from the Lilywhites, whether that would be on loan or even a permanent one, may be the best option for both parties at this moment in time as the Englishman looks to get his footballing career back on track.
