Paratici oversaw an eventful first transfer window as managing director of Spurs following his appointment in the summer.

Indeed, the Italian transfer chief orchestrated many outgoings out of N17 as well as bringing in some much-needed fresh faces - signing Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil, Pape Matar Sarr, Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal (Transfermarkt).

Already, it appears he has his eyes on another target as news emerges on Kessie.

The Latest: Spurs eye Kessie...

As per TMW, Paratici and Spurs have 'already tried to join' the battle for Kessie amid speculation surrounding his future at the San Siro.

The 44-cap Ivory Coast star's contract expires in 2022 as it stands and Tottenham could sign him as a free agent next summer, with the club free to open talks ahead of that time in January.

As well as Spurs, Ligue 1 giants PSG have also been involved as Kessie's agent hold out for a €7 million-per-year (£6 million) salary plus bonuses to extend his current deal with Milan.

The Verdict: Get it done...

Depending on contract developments, potentially signing Kessie on a free would certainly be a stroke of genius by Paratici.

Hailed as an ‘extraordinary’ player by sports writer and broadcaster Nicky Bandini on ESPN, the midfield gem is a bit of an all-rounder despite his natural position being central defensive midfield.

He scored a brilliant 13 goals and four assists last season in Serie A as well as averaging an impressive 88.9% pass accuracy (WhoScored).
