According to an update by Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho ‘knows‘ that Dele Alli wants to leave Spurs in January for Paris-Saint Germain – coming as fellow journalist Luis Miguel Echegaray called the potential move ‘great’ for all parties involved
Alli has been pushed to the fringes of Mourinho’s plans at Spurs, with the Englishman apparently eager to join PSG and reunite with former boss Mauricio Pochettino in the French capital.
Romano drops Alli update involving Jose
The Ligue 1 giants are apparently ‘very keen‘ on signing Alli in a loan deal, as Romano claimed on Thursday, but in a fresh update Romano has confirmed that ‘Jose knows‘ the 24-year-old wishes to leave.
Dropping this behind the scenes claim, whilst Jose’s stance on actually letting him leave is unclear despite his supposed knowledge of the situation, reports suggest that Daniel Levy is anything but willing to sanction his January exit.
The Tottenham chairman apparently wishes for him to stay in case of emergencies, however, journalist Echegaray explained to CBS Sports recently that the transfer would be a ‘great‘ one for all parties.
Transfer Tavern take
Mourinho candidly admitted in his press conference he did not wish to address the increasing rumours of an Alli departure, with Romano sharing his stance for supporters and claiming he realises that the attacker wants to leave.
Time will tell whether this move will come to fruition this month, but it could reduce the wage bill and gift Alli much-needed minutes as the postponed Euro 2020 Championship lingers.
