The Lowdown: Spurs close in...

As backed by Sky Sports, the Lilywhites have been in talks over finalising a swap deal with Sevilla for the exciting young Spaniard which will see Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction.

As well as the Argentine switching to La Liga, Spurs will pay around €25 million (£21.6m) for Gil's services in what could be a fruitful transfer in years to come.

He explains that paperwork surrounding this move 'will be completed' this weekend so they can announce his signing 'in the next days'.

"Bryan Gil-Erik Lamela swap deal between Tottenham and Sevilla is done, here-we-go confirmed," Romano said.

"Paperworks will be completed this weekend in order to announce the deal in the next days. Lamela and €25m to Sevilla, Bryan Gil to Spurs [contract June 2026]."

The Verdict: Big news...

Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici has been a busy man since his appointment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and this move is an exciting one to say the least.

Gil's exploits haven't gone unnoticed and he shined on loan at Eibar last campaign, completing more dribbles per game in the Spanish top flight (2.4) than anyone else in their squad (WhoScored).

The same can be said for key passes per 90 in the final third, where he also outshone every Eibar player with an impressive 1.8 average - potentially highlighting his real attacking threat (WhoScored).

He's also drawn comparisons with Brazilian superstar Neymar (football.london), so it's a signing which could turn many heads over the next few seasons.
