Tottenham Hotspur: Fans gush over Axel Disasi as transfer news emerges

Tottenham are interested in signing Reims defender Axel Disasi this summer, according to RMC Sport via @TranSPURS.
Daniel Levy faces stiff competition from local rivals Arsenal and fellow Premier League side Southampton for the French youngster, and the Saints are confident they can agree a £13m deal for Disasi when the transfer market opens.
However, RMC suggests Spurs have now joined the race to bring the Frenchman to England, and the Red and Whites are willing to accept their original price-tag for the academy graduate.
Jose Mourinho is looking to rebuild his ageing back line, with veteran Jan Vertonghen’s contract set to expire in June, and the young centre-back certainly fits the profile.
Who is the best Tottenham Hotspur defender of the Daniel Levy era?
Jan Vertonghen
Toby Alderweireld
After being promoted from the Stade de Reims B team to the senior squad in the summer of 2017, the 22-year-old has put in a string of defensive shifts for David Guion’s side, scoring 1 goal, making 1.2 tackles per game, averaging 1 interception, and completing a staggering 3.6 clearances on average in Ligue 1 this season (WhoScored).
Unsurprisingly, loads of Spurs fans gushed over the transfer link to Disasi, with one fan dubbing him “Toby-esque,” and others adding he is “quality” and a “bargain.”

That’s a sexy pass right there. Bargain. Will start writing chants in a moment.
