According to a report from the BBC, Tottenham have commenced talks to re-sign Welsh cult hero Gareth Bale after also agreeing a £27.6 million deal with Real Madrid to sign left-back Sergio Reguilon – and there has been a plethora of developments over the last 24 hours.
Who excites you more as a Spurs fan?
As Man United allegedly tracked both players, especially Reguilon as talks between the club and player waged on, the Red Devils seemingly couldn’t reach an agreement to sign the Spaniard – with chairman Daniel Levy now swooping in and taking advantage in an effort to bolster Jose Mourinho’s squad.
Indeed, Reguilon has apparently agreed personal terms with the club and will now sign in a £27.6m transfer – putting an end to Spurs’ hunt for an alternative left-back to Ben Davies.
Sky Sports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano first broke the news early Wednesday morning that an agreement had been reached, with Reguilon now set to become Spurs’ fourth summer signing this window.
Now, Tottenham have their sights set on another Real Madrid want away as the club and Levy become keen on bagging Bale – who is currently valued at around £25.2 million by Transfermarkt.
Labelled a ‘diamond‘ by fellow Spurs fan favourite David Ginola, Bale has been linked with a sensational return to north London for quite some time – but these quick-fire developments could have Lilywhites excited as the club make a serious effort to re-sign the superstar.
