Speaking to talkSPORT, pundit and former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has tipped a potential move away for star striker and ‘monster’ Harry Kane if the Lilywhites don’t clinch silverware – coming after a big development has emerged through Man City’s reported interest in an £88.7 million bid.
Kane, who has been an irresistible force for Spurs this season alongside attacking partner Son Heung-min, with the duo consistently putting top-flight sides to the sword, is now reportedly attracting the Sky Blues’ intrigue as they search for a prolific forward.
Could Harry Kane leave Spurs?
Not a chance
Pep Guardiola has been heavily linked to signing a new striker this January, coming as Sergio Aguero slowly edges his way back to full match fitness, with Kane emerging as a top target.
O’Hara tips potential Kane exit
O’Hara, speaking to talkSPORT, has described this as the ‘perfect move’ for Kane whilst tipping the Lilywhites to lose their star man if Jose Mourinho fails to bring in significant silverware.
“It seems the perfect move for him, if I’m honest,” he told the radio station.
“If I didn’t have my Spurs hat on, because with my Spurs hat on I’d say ‘no, he should stay, we build the team around him, we keep progressing and we win a title with him’.
“If you take the Spurs hat off a little bit and go ‘right, he’s 27-years of age, he probably wants the Shearer record and he can play for Man City with Pep Guardiola, and probably take them to another level again.
“I’d be going to the agent, ‘if we don’t win something this season, it’s time to move on’.
Transfer Tavern take
On paper, Kane’s ability as a prolific centre-forward, combined with his unrivalled nature to drop back and assist in the build-up, could mark him out as the perfect striker for Guardiola.
However, it is debatable whether Daniel Levy would ever be willing to sanction his sale, especially to another Premier League club.
Whether or not we see the club lose a player who ‘Spurs fans love‘ remains to be seen, but it would be a big blow for Mourinho and co if they did.
In other news: Tottenham have also been tipped to sign this ‘unplayable’ star, find out more here.
