Writing on Twitter, reliable Bild journalist Christian Falk has now backed Tottenham Hotspur interest in Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma whilst going one step further.

The Lowdown: Spurs enter Zouma race?

Tottenham are now apparently on the look out for Zouma as managing director Fabio Paratici aims to add another centre-half to Nuno Espirito Santo's ranks.

Sky Sports broke news earlier this week of Spurs' fresh interest in the Frenchman as both Nuno and West Ham United boss David Moyes set their sights on potentially signing him before August 31.

Now, in an update, reliable reporter Falk has backed this news whilst sharing an update of his own.

The Latest: Falk backs Spurs interest in Zouma...

As per the journalist, writing on his social media, Tottenham eyeing a move for Zouma is in fact 'true' and London rivals Chelsea, who have a history of never doing business with Spurs, 'would agree' to sell.

One of the biggest bones of contention regarding this move is both Tottenham and Chelsea's bad blood when it comes to transfer business but Falk claims that the European Champions would in fact green light Zouma's transfer to north London.

While he doesn't mention any formal offer or talks beginning, it appears Paratici could in fact negotiate with Spurs' bitter London rivals after all.

The Verdict: Good option?

At 26-years-old, Zouma may come as a solid option with some sell-on value and experience in the Premier League - with former top flight legend John Terry even calling him 'unbelievable'.

Last season, he averaged a higher pass accuracy (90.9%) than any Spurs defender, or player for that matter (WhoScored) - perhaps indicating there is a real composure to his game as a ball-playing centre-half.

He also possesses the physical presence, standing at a lofty 6 foot 3, with the only question mark being his possible price tag.

Chelsea have reportedly slapped a £25 million valuation on the player (90min) and Paratici may want to weigh other, potentially cheaper options who can fill more positions - like Takehiro Tomiyasu for instance.
