Writing on Twitter, TyC Sports reporter Cesar Luis Merlo has shared some exciting news on another possible Fabio Paratici signing at Tottenham Hotspur - and it involves FC Metz midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.

The Lowdown: Paratici cooking...

Spurs' new managing director has been hard at work on a summer of change in north London as new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo begins his debut season in charge of the club.

Ten days remain of the transfer window with the Italian chief having precious little time to bolster Tottenham's squad, but he has at least got some business done already.

Indeed, Paratici has managed to trim Spurs' team of surplus-to-requirements players like Erik Lamela, Toby Alderweireld, Joe Hart and Juan Foyth to bolster his transfer kitty - with Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga also leaving but on free transfers (Transfermarkt).

The 49-year-old has also overseen the arrivals of Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil and Cristian Romero, with journalist Merlo now sharing some exciting news on another possible signing.

The Latest: Tottenham closing in on Sarr...

Taking to social media, the reporter has claimed that Spurs are about to make another N17 addition in exciting midfielder Sarr with a verbal agreement in place.

Merlo goes as far as to say the talent 'will play for Tottenham' as he drops a rather definitive statement on Twitter.

The FC Metz board allegedly 'confirm' that there is a 'verbal agreement' regarding the €10 million (£8.5m) sale of Sarr to Spurs, with the deal including another €5 million (£4.2m) in add-ons.

The Verdict: Exciting news...

The 18-year-old is seen as a really exciting prospect with Premier League champions Manchester City also having chased him this summer.

Just a teenager, he started 18 Ligue 1 matches for Metz last season whilst averaging the third highest pass accuracy per 90 (85.3%) out of their entire squad (WhoScored).

He also made an impressive 2 tackles per game in that time, more than a majority of Tottenham players managed in the Premier League (WhoScored).

For just £8.5m, Paratici may be about to land a really promising coup for Nuno, albeit not one who will make an immediate impact on the first XI.
