Taking to social media, Crystal Sport reporter Dima Shariqadze has made quite the Tottenham Hotspur transfer claim involving his countryman and Rubin Kazan forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Lowdown: Spurs in attacker chase?
As reported by The Evening Standard, managing director Fabio Paratici was set to turn his attention to the attacking areas in these final weeks of the transfer window.
Sharing some news on the latter, Shariqadze, a reporter in Georgia, has shared some rather promising news.
The Latest: Spurs ‘closing on’ Kvaratskhelia deal
Via Shariqadze’s Twitter, Tottenham negotiations are ‘progressing very fast’ over the potential signing of Kvaratskhelia from Rubin Kazan.
It is claimed that the Lilywhites are ‘closing on’ a deal for the 20-year-old forward, and according to his sources, Spurs may be advancing in talks to sign another youngster amid all the noise surrounding Papa Mate Sarr.
The exciting attacker scored four goals and assisted eight others in 23 Russian top flight appearances last year (Transfermarkt).
The Verdict: Exciting last 48 hours…
Sarr is reportedly destined to sign for Tottenham and this news of progress in talks to sign another exciting starlet comes as really promising.
While you could make the argument he plays in an inferior division when compared to the Premier League, Kvaratskhelia’s head-turning numbers tell you all you need to know.
The winger racked up a brilliant 3.4 completed dribbles per 90 for Kazan over 2020/2021 and also averaged 2.2 shots on goal in that time (WhoScored).
Even reporter Fabrizio Romano recognises his sensational talent, with the Italian calling him an ‘incredible’ player when speaking on his Twitch channel (via HITC).
