According to an update courtesy of Sky Sports, Man United are considering a loan move for Real Madrid want-away and Spurs target Gareth Bale – with the Premier League giants now eyeing a battle with Tottenham over his signature.
Mundo Deportivo recently claimed that Bale could leave the Bernabeu for as little as £18.4 million, but United are reportedly considering the option to take him on a season-long loan deal if they fail to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho.
Will Spurs re-sign Gareth Bale ahead of Man United?
Yes, he wants to come home
As Tottenham also target a move for the ‘unbelievable‘ attacking star, the two clubs could now enter a battle to take him off Madrid’s hands after wide reports of his unrest in the Spanish capital.
Sparking the infamous ‘Wales, Golf, Madrid‘ moment, Bale’s unhappiness at Madrid is widely recognised, and the Welsh superstar may well be open to a Premier League return.
Last year, Bale was allegedly close to securing a move to the Chinese Super League, but a transfer failed to materialise with Madrid now looking for another way to ship the 31-year-old off their wage bill.
Earning a reported £600,000-per-week, Diario AS even suggested that the Galacticos would be willing to subsidise 50% of Bale’s enormous salary in an effort to attract suitors, with United now weighing up a loan move as a potential result.
Theoretically, Spurs could approach Madrid with a similar offer, but it remains to be seen whether they will in fact lodge a bid and bring the former club cult hero back to north London.
