Speaking to GiveMeSport, reporter Michael Bridge of Sky Sports has shared his belief surrounding Tottenham Hotspur's links to Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye Vlahovic move...

As per numerous reports over this last month, the Lilywhites have been eyeing a move for the Serie A star as new boss Antonio Conte adds him to his list of targets.

Some sources have suggested that the move is actually advancing steadily, with La Gazzetta dello Sport recently lifting the lid on a meeting in London as club chiefs and Spurs discussed a possible deal.

Meanwhile, it is also believed that Conte and Tottenham managing director Fabio Paratici have both personally 'agreed' on the Serbia international as a target - especially if Harry Kane leaves (TUTTOmercatoWEB).

Bridge, commenting on the links to Vlahovic, has somewhat backed these claims as he shares his belief.

The Latest: Bridge shares Vlahovic belief...

Speaking to GMS, the Sky reporter believes that Spurs will be in contention to sign the in-form 21-year-old if Fiorentina do want to sell - as they will also be with fellow target Franck Kessie.

He explained:

""If Fiorentina want to do something with Vlahovic in January. Kessie, in January, I can see Spurs being in there."

The Verdict: Big opportunity...

Vlahovic's contract situation at Fiorentina puts the Serie A side in a precarious position with his current deal set to expire in 2023 as it stands.

La Viola president Rocco Commisso recently confirmed that they had tabled the 6 foot 3 powerhouse an offer to make him the highest paid player in their history but it was swiftly rejected.

This means Fiorentina may have to contemplate selling while they still can and Bridge's educated belief that they could well do so in January comes as promising.

Tottenham need an alternative to star man Kane going forward and Vlahovic's 12 goals and three assists in just 14 appearances this season point to an ideal signing.

Lauded as 'really crazy' by former Bulgaria international Valeri Bojinov, he may well have to be a priority for Tottenham.
